Sitting on over five acres, Marigold is a stunning modern equestrian estate located in Wellington, Florida. Designed by architect Annie Carruthers, the clean lines and flat roofs are inspired by midcentury modern design. The process began with the dual ambition of shaping bold, contemporary design and ensuring rigorous functional performance. The property includes a primary residence and barn complex, including a caretaker’s apartment and grooms’ quarters, indoor and outdoor rings, stables, and paddocks. The primary residence is replete with a stunning pool and an outdoor entertaining space. This project was recently featured in Equestrian Living magazine.
The team collaborated closely with the owner to create a modern equestrian property focused on openness, natural light, and a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. The interior design by Lisa Lalaounis of The Decorators Unlimited features a tropical-modern palette with a chic, minimalist look. Lisa incorporated luxurious natural stone, shiny metals, and soft leathers in a neutral tonal range in the residence, caretaker’s apartment, and grooms’ quarters. Lisa chose durable textiles and sleek yet comfortable furnishings throughout to create a stylish home that is functional for the equestrian lifestyle. Equestrian-inspired artwork is a focus in the property’s interiors, with pieces including black-and-white photography and framed Hermes scarves. Overall, the design is tailored to the needs of both horses and the owner, creating a breathtaking modern equestrian estate
